Patna (Bihar) [India] October 23 (ANI): Congress leader Pawan Khera on Thursday addressed the ongoing political discourse in Bihar, dismissing claims of discord within the Mahagathbandhan alliance.
Khera, commenting on PM Narendra Modi’s visit to Bihar on October 24, stated that his visit would not impact the state significantly. He said that while Bihar would welcome some as guests, it would look to others to form its government.
He further questioned the relevance of the controversies surrounding Tejashwi Yadav’s photo in campaign posters.
Responding to opposition remarks, Khera stated, “Let the opposition say whatever they want to say, but there was never a clash between us (Mahagathbandhan)…Is this (Tejashwi Yadav’s photo in the poster) a relevant issue? Does this issue make any sense to the youth of Bihar?”
“Commenting on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Bihar on October 24, Khera remarked, “He can come, how does that make a difference? Bihar will treat some people as guests, and it will expect other people to form its government.”
Expressing confidence in the Mahagathbandhan’s prospects, he added, “We are very confident that we will win.”
The 2025 Bihar Elections will have the main contest between the National Democratic Alliance and the Mahagathbandhan.
Mahagathbandhan, led by Rashtriya Janata Dal, includes Congress party, the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) (CPI-ML) led by Deepankar Bhattacharya, the Communist Party of India (CPI), the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM), and Mukesh Sahani’s Vikasheel Insaan Party (VIP).
The NDA comprises the Bharatiya Janata Party, Janata Dal (United), Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular), and Rashtriya Lok Morcha.
Additionally, Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj has also staked claims on all 243 seats of the state.
The assembly elections will be held in two phases on November 6 and 11. The results will be declared on November 14. (ANI)
