Maddur (Karnataka) [India], August 6 (ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and JDS entered the fourth day of the ‘Mysuru Chalo’ padayatra on Tuesday, which was started against the alleged illegal activities of the Congress-ruled government since they came to power in the state.
JDS State Youth Unit President Nikhil Kumaraswamy said that the JDS and BJP have started this padayatra regarding the alleged MUDA scam and the corruption that has taken place in Valmiki for the developmental works.
Speaking to ANI, he said, “Today, we have all started this padayatra regarding the alleged MUDA scam and the corruption that has taken place in Valmiki for the developmental works. Karnataka CM himself has accepted on the floor that Rs. 89 crore has been wrongly utilised.”
Further, he added that today marks the fourth day of the padayatra, which will come to an end on Saturday.
“Today, we are entering the fourth day of the padayatra, and we will be ending it on Saturday in Neerghata. On Saturday, we will hold a big rally and a big ‘Samavesha’ in Mysore. Congress is trying to divert this issue because the state is aware of the MUDA scam and Valmiki corruption that have taken place and they cannot get out of them. However, that is wrong, everyone in Karnataka is very smart,” he added.

Earlier, on August 4, Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy said on Saturday that the 10-day ‘Mysore Chalo’ padayatra has been started against the alleged illegal activities of the Congress-ruled government since coming to power in the state.
“We are going to finish this programme in Mysuru. It is against several illegal activities done by this (Congress) government: corruption, land grabbing,” the JD(S) leader told reporters hours after the event was started.
He said that during the Padayatra, they would educate the people of Karnataka on how this government came to power. “After that, from day one, they started to grab the money from the exchequer and even from officials.” (ANI)
