Rudraprayag (Uttarakhand) [India], August 6 (ANI): The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami, arrived at Rudraprayag on Tuesday and inspected the disaster-affected areas.
Additionally, the CM also conducted a ground inspection of the areas affected by the heavy rain in Sonprayag in Rudraprayag district.
Speaking to the reporters, Dhami said that severe damage has been caused to life and property in the state. He further added that road connectivity at 29 places has been disrupted and the rescue operation is now over.
“The disaster has caused a lot of loss of life and property in the state. Road connectivity has been disrupted in 29 places and landslides have taken place too. District Administration, NDRF, SDRF, local police and other people have come out to help us recover from this situation. The rescue operation is now over. Our focus is to restore the road and other connectivity. We will make some new helipads too,” he said.
Further, he added that alternate routes will be created for the people. He also thanked PM Modi and Amit Shah for their help.
“Alternate routes will be created for the people. I want to thank PM Modi and Union HM Amit Shah for helping us in these difficult times. We are all working towards resuming the Yatra again. The Heli Save of Kedarnath will begin tomorrow and all passengers will get a 25 per cent discount on the same. The disaster management team of Dehradun is keeping an eye on the situation,” he added.
Additionally, he also gave Rs 35.77 lakh for the installation of the statue of Maharana Pratap in Eklavaya Residential School in Khatima.
Earlier today, as per the Rudraprayag district administration, about 150 local people were sent from Kedarnath to Bhimbali under the supervision of the NDRF and SDRF. NDRF is also bringing 161 people from Jangalchatti to Chirbasa. (ANI)
