Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], December 9 (ANI): Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin said on Monday that the DMK government has given a number of schemes and projects for Chennai which has benefited a lot of people in the city.
Stalin today inaugurated several projects in Chennai.
Addressing the program, he said, “I am happy to participate in the program and to inaugurate various projects that benefit Chennai developments. Whoever comes to Chennai, the city will give life. That is Chennai so we say in Tamil “Vantharai Vazlavaikun Chennai”. Former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and DMK Founder Annadurai named it Madras and later former Chief Minister and DMK Chief Kalaignar renamed it Chennai. From old times till now, the DMK government has given a number of schemes and projects for Chennai. The first flyover bridge was built by the DMK government.”
“The first mayor of Chennai was our Chief Minister MK Stalin. He approved a lot of projects that helped with the infrastructure development of Chennai,” he added.
In a post on X, Udhayanidhi Stalin emphasized that the history of Chennai’s development cannot be written without the contribution of the Corporation Government.
“On behalf of our Dravidian model government, at a function held today at the Ribbon Building complex, we laid the foundation stone for 493 new project works to be carried out at Chennai corporation at an estimated cost of Rs 309 crores and inaugurated 17 completed project works for public use. Subsequently, we congratulated 559 people by issuing appointment orders to provide employment opportunities in the Corporation,” he said.
