Indore (Madhya Pradesh) [India], July 14 (ANI): Indore has set a new world record for planting 11 lakh saplings within 24 hours on Sunday further solidifying the city’s reputation as the cleanest city in India along with taking initiative for the healthy environment.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav received the certificate from the Guinness Book of World Records.
In a post on X, CM Yadav said, “Indore is now number 1 in the world. My brothers and sisters of Indore, infinite congratulations and best wishes to all of you for creating history in plantation after cleanliness. With the participation of all of you, Indore, the economic capital of Madhya Pradesh, the cleanest city of our country, has made a world record of planting more than 11 lakh saplings in a day.”
“By achieving this proud success under the inspiration of respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji and in the dignified presence of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah ji, Madhya Pradesh has given the message of conservation of nature and service towards mother,” he added.
Nishchal Barot, Guinness World Record Consultant told ANI that the previous record was held by Assam, which planted 9,26,000 trees in a single day.
“More than 12 lakh trees were planted in Indore within 24 hours. The title of this Guinness world record was ‘Most trees planted by a team within 24 hours’. We started this record on July 13 at 7:03 pm, and it continued till today by 7:03 pm. The good thing is that Indore broke the old record at 5 pm. Assam held the old record for planting 9,26,000 trees in 24 hours. The numbers will be released later. However, we have handed the certificate of the new world record to CM Mohan Yadav,” he said.
Earlier in 2023, more than 1500 people performed tabla in the ‘Taal Darbar’ at Gwalior fort and set a Guinness World Record for the most numbers of people performing tabla simultaneously.
Expressing his joy, Chief Minister Yadav announced that December 25 will be celebrated as ‘Tabla Divas’. (ANI)
