Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], December 17 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said it was a historic day for Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan on Tuesday as an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) of Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal (PKC) project’s Nadi Jodo Abhiyan was going to be signed under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He also highlighted that with this rivers linking project, 11 districts in MP and 13 districts in Rajasthan would be benefitted and would be able to get drinking water and water for irrigation.
“Today will be a historic day for MP and Rajasthan. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, an MoU of Parvati-Chambal-Kalisindh (PKC) project’s ‘Nadi Jodo Abhiyan’ is going to be signed. Under this project, the Indian government will provide Rs 17,000 crores to MP and Rajasthan to provide drinking water and water for irrigation to 11 districts in MP and 13 districts in Rajasthan,” CM Yadav told ANI.
The CM further said that the agreement for the project between Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh was delayed for 20 years by the Congress government.
“Water is the mercy of God, but if water is used properly through the government, then it is in the interest of society. The project was a big decision and the agreement between Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh was kept delayed for 20 years by the Congress government for some reasons. It is quite sad to say that we have wasted this very long time, but now the time of change has arrived in which we have made the decision,” the CM said.
Additionally, he also mentioned the districts going to benefit from the project which includes Sheopur, Morena, Shivpuri, Guna, Ashok Nagar along with western MP containing Agar, Indore, Ujjain, Shajapur, Rajgarh, etc regions will get proper drinking water and for irrigation.
The chief minister also extended greetings to everyone on the occasion. (ANI)
