New Delhi [India], October 14 (ANI): BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla on Monday, criticised Congress national president Malliakarjun Kharge’s family over their offer to return the KIADB land. The BJP spokesperson argued that while returning the land does not absolve them of corruption or misuse of power, it signifies an admission of guilt.
“After the MUDA scam which is a Rs 5000 crore scam in which Siddaramaiah is accused number one and his wife is accused number two and after the entire scam was unveiled by the BJP…The family of Siddaramaiah returned the land and tried to escape the liability by returning that land. Following the footsteps of Siddaramaiah now we are seeing that the Kharge family has also tried to return the five acres of land which were illegally allotted to them under KIADB the aerospace parkland which was meant for SC entrepreneurs” he said.
He further said, “This return of land will not absolve their criminality. It will not absolve the corruption, and it will not give them clean chit on the misuse and abuse of power corruption and nepotism but yes it is an admission of guilt just like the Siddaramaiah family admitted their guilt when they returned the MUDA land, so these people have also admitted the guilt…”
The BJP national spokesperson demanded the resignation of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah as he blamed both for the involvement of corruption.
“This is a huge vindication for the BJP which was always saying with facts that the Kharge family has benefited from illegal allotment of the land through misuse of power, conflict of interest and nepotism…They try to return the land after being in denial. This is the acceptance of corruption. And by returning the land, what do they think that the criminality ends? That is not how the law works. You have done illegal acts and taken this land…Congress leaders must resign. Mallikarjun Kharge and Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah must resign.” (ANI)
